Will the ceremony take place outdoors?

Yes, the ceremony will be located on the beach! Temporary foot wear will be provided if desired, although Key West is best enjoyed “toes-in-the-sand.”

Will the reception take place indoors?

Yes, the reception will be located in the ballroom of the Casa Marina with access to the outdoor patio, as well as open french doors to enjoy the Key West breeze.

What is the average temperature for Key West in April?

April is the perfect time to visit Key West! Average temperature will range from a high of 83 and a low of 72. April is less crowded as well, for it avoids the winter-rush months.

 

What should I wear to a beach wedding?

Anything summery for women, and light fabric for men!

Please no black- light and bright colors are more suitable for the warm weather.

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Ladies should wear cocktail dresses, and the gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat

Will there be transportation to and from the venue?

Yes! There will be a shuttle available at both the Capitana and the Double Tree hotels. The shuttle will bring you to and from our venue, the Casa Marina Resort.

I have dietary/restriction allergies. What is the best way to let you know?

We definitely want to make sure you enjoy your time and meal on our wedding day. Please let us know your dietary needs when you RSVP in the “Message to the Couple” text box.

Can we take pictures during the ceremony?

Yes! We welcome you to take pictures and post them on social media! Please use our wedding hashtag #JoeandMariaKeyWest when posting so we can see them too!

Are there any large stores in Key West?

Yes, there are a variety of large grocery stores and shops, including a Target!

Are there activities for the kids?

Yes! Please visit our Activities tab to find activities that are perfect for kids!

Can you swim in Key West?

Yes! Although, most beaches are meant for tanning only or as a dock for water activities and boats. Double Tree hotel has a short shuttle that takes you directly to Smathers beach, a swimming friendly beach!

Should I rent a car?

No, you do not need to rent a car as parking is very difficult on the island. Most parking spots downtown are reserved for the resident that lives in the house it is in front of. Renting a golf cart or scooter is a much easier way to travel as designated parking is always accessible throughout the island.

What are the must-try foods of Key West?

Key West is famous for their Key Lime Pies, of course! The island also features their local favorites including conch fritters and chowder, spiney lobster, mahi mahi, Key West pink shrimp, of course Cuban food!

Should we make our dinner and activity reservations in advance?

Yes! It is best to plan out your trip in advance and book your activities, scooter/boat rentals, or dinner reservations early. Most places have a cancellation policy that is as late as 48 hours in advance!

What is the everyday attire in Key West?

The locals are very casual and wear loose, light colored clothing and comfortable sun dresses. Wearing sneakers or comfortable shoes while shopping down Duval Street is highly reccomended!
